Flock

For those unaware with the term, tessellations are a collection of images or the same image that fill a plane without overlapping or leaving gaps.
These were made famous by artist M. C. Escher.

My tessellation image is that of a bird, and the piece itself is going to be multimedia, incorporating rubber block printing, cut images not made or photographed by myself used in collage, and drawing.

The piece is not done yet, but here are images of my design, my print block, and my cardboard cutout, as well as the beginning of the piece.

The block is cut out on both sides to give a contrast-opposites effect.
